Don Luca Ferrari

A priest of the diocese of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla since 1987, he has dedicated his ministry in a special way to the formation of young people and the accompaniment of families and priests. He is responsible for the "Familiaris Consortio" Movement and founder of the Priestly Community of the same name (www.familiarisconsortio.it)
He was parish priest in the city of Reggio Emilia, where he started one of the first experiences of Pastoral Unity. On the occasion of WYD 2000 in Rome, he was put in charge of the "Confessions Service", from which the experience of "Youth & Reconciliation" originated, to witness to and spread the joy of forgiveness (www.giovaniericonciliazione.it)
In 2004 he obtained his doctorate in theology, discussing a thesis on the sacrament of Reconciliation. A Missionary of Mercy, he collaborates with the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization and the Apostolic Penitentiary.

He is Professor of Theology and Pastoral Assistant at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Piacenza.
